Summary: sms-send protocol is unusable, cannot be configured
Product: kopete
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: fcardone at wp.pl
Version: 0.60.3 (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
The "sms" protocol, when using the application sms-send, should generate a
dialogue which varies according to the provider one uses - eg login and
password for certain pages, number, etc. Each sms-send script specifies which
information should be sent (and this was perfect in the Kde 3 Kopetes -
especially the ones one could download and compile himself). Now the sms
protocol, using sms-send, does nothing, just asks for a number (which is
pointless without the other parameters) and stays in "connecting" status
forever - there should be no "connection", as sms-send is a command-line
program. Just check the older versions of kopete, eg 0.12 - I am sure all the
code you need is there!
