Saw it in Kopete BugDay2 that this needs clarification. Sometimes something similar happens to me when I have slow connection. Usually I get disconnected and Kopete tries to reconnect. During reconnect it asks for password but I know that the password is not the problem, it is a problem contacting the server.

Kopete 0.50.80
Using Debian experimental package (4.0.98)
