 Can't reproduce this using Kopete 4.1.60 , KDE 4.2>=20080709 ( Aeon Nightly ) in Ubuntu 8.04.
 Can you update to the latest version of KDE ( 4.1 RC1 ) for OpenSuse 11 and see if it still happens ?
