I noticed some incoming messages in the history were shown empty (while they
were not). In the XML file they are not empty, but I saw all of them contained
an ASCII 0 character, while the messages normally shown did not.

This bug is easy to reproduce: you only need to add a \000 character wherever
you want in a message to make it be ignored in the history window.
