            Bug ID: 394475
Summary: Not displaying messages while they’re still in queue,
                    only once sent
           Product: konversation
           Version: 1.6
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: ircview
          Assignee: argonel at gmail.com
          Reporter: galex-713 at galex-713.eu
                CC: konversation-devel at kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi,

Today, I inadvertently pasted some thousands of lines on #emacs channel (see
bug 394474 [1]), but fortunately, my 3G connection dropped before all the queue
was pasted.

However, after (having thought) doing so, I quickly apologized and tried
talking about this on the channel, not realizing nobody saw my messages until i
reconnected, because Konversation was really still sending the earlier
messages, so I was first confused thinking people were (not) acknowledging what
I was trying to say, and still complaining about what I thought stopped being
sent anymore. Only when reconnecting I did understand, because people informed
me of the standard behavior of most irc clients in these cases.

However, last times I saw irc clients delaying message sendings (I forgot if it
was ERC or Hexchat), the irc client was displaying the lines as long as they
were sent, so I was understanding that my client was sending lines more slowly
than I wrote them, for some kind of limitation.

I think Konversation should do this too, and display sent messages in the
ircview along with their sending (and removing from the queue) instead of the
hitting of the Return key or pasting of a newline.
