MATE Desktop - Debian!

Hi!
I really like Konversation because it's userfriendly, looks good and have the ability to be customized. But foremost i think about security and anonymity.
I have used Konversation before but using another OS now and then realized that Konversation is limited to the KDE enviroment.
Therefore I am wondering if there will be a stable version for the MATE desktop
