I customized the colors so I chose black for background and white for font. it
works well in channels but in private messages, the font is black while the
background remains black. 


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. choose the background as black and the font as white in preferences->colors
2. let someone send you a private message 

Actual Results:  
black font on black background

Expected Results:  
white font on black background
