Maaaaaybe ... the problem with options is that they're not free, they come at
the cost of making the config UI more complex, and of course require
maintenance. That means they need to justify their experience, i.e. may not be
a lazy excuse for doing the right thing in the first place, need to be useful
to enough users, or need to address some critical need.

>From my end I do not doubt that your annoyance is genuine and that your user
experience would be improved by an option, but it's also the first time this
has been reported in the 6-7 years or so I've been around, so I have to weigh
your need against the needs of everyone else using the application.
