Ok, thanks :).

Just for clarity, this request is about stripping special formatting control
codes (which are exclusively intended to e.g. turn something bold) from
incoming messages with the purpose of seeing messages unformatted irregardless
of the author's intent. Which by itself is an entirely reasonable request,
especially since we already support stripping color control codes and bold,
italic etc. are in the same ballpark.
