Sorry, I was pretty unclear here's how to reproduce:
1) right click ircview
2) mouse over Open LogFile.. / Channel Settings..
3) status bar will change
4) click out of right click menu
5) status bar will not change until you click on the menu choices (file, edit
etc.), link hovering doesn't change it.

It should change back to "Ready." as soon as the hover ends.
