I'm having the same problem here on vanilla 1.0.1. In particular, it seems to
be specific to my connection to irc.oftc.net, to which I connect over SSL.
Whenever the connection to oftc times out (eg, after bringing the laptop home
from work), CPU goes to 100%.
I can easily reproduce:
1) Start connection to ircs.oftc.net:9999 (with SSL)
2) The 'invalid SSL certificate dialog' will appear
3) Wait a minute or so before clicking 'accept' on dialog
4) Registration with IRC server will time out:
[error] Closing Link: ppp-xxx.internode.on.net (Registration timed out)
[Info] Connected; logging in...
5) CPU hits 100%
Occasionally, it'll do this while the dcop server is waiting on a read() from
konversation's dcop socket; this blocks all KDE apps, including the window
manager. The only way out is to change to a different VT and kill konversation
:(
