Summary: wish: Konversation needs a proper plugin API
           Product: konversation
           Version: 1.0.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konversation-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: kde_bugzilla.zen.ssokolow spamgourmet com

Version: 1.0.1 (using KDE 3.5.5, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-gentoo-r4-20070330

Konversation needs a proper plugin API. Such a lack is the last major thing that keeps X-Chat on my primarily KDE desktop.

My suggestion would be to start from X-Chat's design and then remove the idiocy. Be sure to copy the ability for new languages to be added via plugins without them being second-class citizens. (An X-Chat plugin written in Perl, Python, TCL, Ruby, or LISP appears in the plugin list just the same as an X-Chat plugin written in C)
