I have a similar issue that happens when I let my machine idle and the monitor
shuts off (Samsung 57" Neo G9). I get my system to turn the monitor back on,
unlock my system, and then I switch to a desktop that has Konsole already
running. The background flickers while typing. Only solution is to restart that
instance of Konsole.

It seems if the desktop I unlock to has Konsole running, that one is fine.
