            Bug ID: 497675
Summary: [Feature request] Putty style right click paste or
allow remapping of mouse button actions
    Classification: Applications
           Product: konsole
           Version: 24.08.3
          Platform: unspecified
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: copy-paste
          Assignee: konsole-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: samec.marek at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Many other terminal emulators offer "putty style" right click paste
(Terminator) or complete remapping of mouse buttons (Alacritty, Wezterm,
Kitty). The middle mouse paste is a well settled linux mapping since the advent
of X11, but there are many downsides to this:

- Touchpads - middle mouse is often mapped to gestures or multi-finger touch
which is notoriously unreliable on some touchpads, especially if the
manufacturer offers no linux drivers.
- Furthermore some office mice have damaged scroll wheel or non-functional
middle click (shared desk offices are common these days).
- I prefer to map paste to right-click to make it more reliable.

Ideal solution would be to make the buttons fully re-mapable - to allow user to
map any action, that can be mapped to a key to a mouse button click. This might
require lot of work so a simple "Putty style paste" tick option in Konsole /
Profiles / Mouse settings might do it for now. In this case the Konsole menu
would be remapped Shift + right click.
