Further to my comments above: The terminal corruption as shown in the two
attached images (vertical, horizontal or corner box characters or lines and
incorrect character color background) is not fixed by QT v5.15.1.

I've come to the conclusion it is still a Konsole issue because both Konsole
and cool-retro-term which uses a QML port of qtremwidget (Konsole) also shows
the same problem almost (no line characters but incorrect background color).

While the following terminal emulators DO NOT show this problem, tmux,
terminology, terminator, kitty, guake, stterm or st, rxvt-unicode.
