I think that is normal behaviour; the cursor shape is a solid/filled block,
when the tab is un-focused it becomes an outline of a block (the inverse of
what it was); when if the cursor is selected, the colour are inverted, and in
an un-focused tab the it's inverted again (so inverting the inverted
colours....).

I hope that makes sense.
