I changed KCodecAction to use setChecked(true); throughout and it did fully fix
the crash. It doesn't have the same behaviour though, the parent QAction
doesn't get checked automatically.

I tried it in KMail and it does not crash. Most likely it does not call
setCurrentCodec in aboutToShow.
