(Posted too quickly, because speaking of flaws:)
I *could* see myself use this kind of feature if it had a quick, easily
accessible toggle, with long-running jobs in background tabs or windows. But in
its currently implementation it will probably not be of any help because
bringing the window or tab to the foreground will almost certainly remove the
highlighting from the output that you hadn't seen yet.
