1.2 is no proper float.

Try 1.25 or some other 1/2^x number.

Arthur Peters did some good explaining below. 

Our stack isn't build in a way that it properly works with such numbers.

I use here 1.5 and for me, this is more or less artifact free, same for 1.25.

There are still some issues (like some artifacts after selection), but I am
unable to fix these and my Qt bug is still unresolved as nobody found the real
reason for these ones.
