I've tested all the independent terminal emulator implementations I have on my
system.

The following 7 of them erase the 79th character: Linux console, xterm, VTE,
konsole, mlterm, st (suckless), terminology.

The following 5 of them erase the 80th character: urxvt, pterm (PuTTY), Kitty,
screen, tmux.

Sigh.
