The patch in phabricator changes it to 

static const QRegularExpression
key(QStringLiteral("key\\s+(\\S+)\\s*:\\s*(\"(.*)\"|\\w+)"),

I'm not actually sure why the original one is more complex.  I'll try to test
it.
