Not a bug, but intended behavior change. 

There is no longer the concept of  "per-window-default" profile. If you don't
specify one specific profile, "New Tab" will also use the default profile. If
you want to mimic the previous behavior, use "Clone Tab", which will use the
same profile as the current tab .
