- What I was doing when the application crashed:
     Closing all the files and getting ready to shutdown the broken computer

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
     After rebooting after updates it lagged some then the screen became
mumbled and jumbled and then fixed and then it lagged twice as bad. switching
to a different tty is slower now and on openSUSE the desktop completly stops
working and you have to init 3 init 5 and that doesn't work sometimes.

- Custom settings of the application:
only one I can think might have anything to do with it is the kde4 screen
resolution set to 1024x1280
I had to install updates to open files with kate and dolphin and qt4.
