I have not spent much time on code style and commenting yet, just doing the style i'm used to from work. Once you're ok with the functional changes, I'll clean it up before we look at merging.
As you know there has been a lot of back and forth with many commits depending on each other, so most of the commit history is not of much use at this point. I will see what I'm able to reorder, squash or split up.
