--- Comment #46 from Alain Knaff <kde at kde.lka.org.lu> ---
Scary indeed...

However, in many situations copy-pasting newlines is useful. Maybe instead just
pop up a warning if a newline in comprised in the string, with a possibility to
allow/refuse the paste? Or make it configurable (always refuse,
warning/confirmation, always allow).

Also, please note that this article contains an even scarier prospect:
copy-pasting escape characters, allowing the pasted text to break out of insert
mode in vim. IMHO, copying escapes should never be allowed.

Also, tabs can cause problems, as they may exist on web pages or text files for
formatting reasons, but when copied, they'll trigger tab completion, which is
annoying, even if there is no ill intent. Optionally, konsole should be able to
replace a pasted tab with 8 spaces to prevent this.

But back to the subject: really, the _browser_ should warn when making a
selection containing invisible or off-screen text. And this warning should not
be overridable by javascript. And in general, as of late, browsers (and other
programs) have become very sloppy with selections (such as not showing when the
selection has been lost), which could lead to similar problems.
