It works for me in 2.9.1 with the following steps:

1. Open Konsole (A).
2. Write “konsole -e nano” and hit Enter. A new Konsole instance (B) will be
opened with the Nano plain text editor (any other software would do, though).
3. Resize the Konsole B, and then close it — closing the window should be fine.
4. Repeat step 2.

Konsole B starts in the size you left it.
