When I try to select text in konsole it freezes and has to be killed. The white
selection highlighting box won't even show up.

If I can do anything to help debug this, please tell me.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open konsole
2. try to select any text (even the prompt)
3. total freeze
