If I understand it correctly, those xterm options allow users to control the
semantic of the underline attribute: 

   * draw text together with underline 
   * draw text using the different color specified by user, but no underline

Although I generally do not care about how the underline  atribute is
processed, I myself prefer the rxvt-unicode way, which allows users to control
the color used for drawing the underline itself.
