Thanks for your advice. 

I agree the situation in KDE SC 4.8 is not ideal enough( but better than in KDE
SC 4.7 IMHO). I plan to add the "Configure Konsole" dialog in 4.9, and move a
few options which are expected to be global instead of per-profile into that
dialog. This "show menu bar in new windows" option is a good candidate.

Maybe the better choice is to just get rid of this option. Konsole might be the
only KDE application which provides such option. Other applications just
remember and restore the previous visibility state of menubar.

Reopen this report for tracking advice and progress.
