I know this is an old report, but could you please elaborate on this
regression?

I fail to notice the difference between KDE 4.4.x and KDE 4.5.x on this issue.
The git history does not show any suspicious commit which might cause behavior
changes on this issue.

Are you sure there is really a regression, or this issue really exists?
