[Konsole-devel] Feature request: do-not-paste-linefeeds

Hello all
I am a fond user or konsole, and working as a sysadmin

A few times I risked doing big damages because of mistaken paste. Like I
thought I had something else in the copy-buffer.

I have already disabled middle-click paste from xorg, so that at least
now I have only 1 buffer to worry about, but sometimes this is not
enough and I still paste the wrong thing.

This is very risky when I am root: I cannot see in advance what I am
pasting and when I see it it's too late because it might very well have
newlines in it and hence give the command immediately.

Would you please implement an option which disables pasting of newlines,
maybe converting them to \\n (slash + newline) or cutting them away
completely?

Most useful probably would be if you could add a different
(customizable) hotkey for pasting without newlines:

- the current paste hotkey would remain with unchanged functionality
- the additional hotkey "paste-without-newlines" would paste with
newlines removed, replaced by blanks or escaped with slashes, whatever.

So that people would use the risky hotkey only when they are really
really sure of what they are doing

Thank you for your great work
R.
