Hi,

I'm using a modified version of Konsole and Yakuake with the patch proposed by
Martin in order to activate the blurred background, and it work's like a charm.

I don't see any drawback with the KPart part (not in kate nor than kdevelop or
dolphin). 

In my opinion this patch helps a lot for the readability.
