Thanks for the explanation. I notice the behavior now. But unfortunately,
putting the searchbar on top does not solve the problem. You can try this quick
hack of 'putting-searchbar-on-top':
https://github.com/adaptee/konsole/tree/searchbar-on-top. 

The real problem is the the size of the terminal area is changed whenever the
searchbar shows or hides.  The similar behavior can be observed in another way:

1). make sure the shell prompt is at the bottom line
2). decrease the window height from bottom, then the content is shifted up.
3). increase the window height from bottom, then the content is not shifted
down.

So unless konsole changes its way of updating contents on resize, that is the
expected behavior.

Anyway, it is still a nice idea to make the position of searchbar configurable.
