Well, I did misunderstand the problem a bit. I thought the problem was the
passphrase of the private key was asked for, while the actual problem seems
that the password of remote account is asked for. Right?  

I just tried it again as described in that comment using a new account. Still,
I failed to reproduce the reported problem.

A little off topic. Do you use private key which is not protected by
passphrase? That is not a good idea, IMHO.
