(K)Ubuntu 10.04 LTS? That means you are probably still using konsole shipped
with KDE-4.4.5[1], which is quite outdated when compared with KDE-4.7.0, the
latest release.

I would suggest you to check this problem with a recent version of konsole,
instead of a outdated version.
