I'm a spammer here I think. Sorry for that. I've re-read all comments again and
I see that line which was rewritten by mcview perhaps consists of 8 spaces
which were there before rewrite and other spaces which were written instead of
'real' characters of previous content so in terminal ALL line is plain spaces
and I don't see anything wrong with it. I think the patch in comment #108 only
partially covers that then as it should cover full line in case of partial
rewrite instead of only rewritten part.
Note that due to this bug I'm using konsole from TDE (it's continuation of KDE3
you know) at home and it doesn't have that issue with extra spaces on PgDn on
the same host where I run konsole which we testing here. And even worse -
before last system upgrade I had konsole from ubuntu karmic (KDE 4.3.2) at home
and there was no such bug then too (probably it was with lines in history but
never had any problem with lines in mc or mutt) but after upgrade it gone
incompatible with rest of KDE unfortunately and that's basically why I was
forced to add TDE into my repositories to have working konsole.
And there was mentioned focus... I have some very weird focus issue (with both
konsole 2.6.4 and 2.7.2 that are available to test right now) which is present
neither in konsole from TDE nor in VTE-based terminals. Assuming that isn't
topic here, I probably should open another bugreport if there isn't one already
but that issue is still regression and I think about giving up and forgetting
of KDE4 for good as I've replaced almost everything with alternate utilities
due to numerous regressions. Sorry.
