Summary: Paste should not scroll to bottom
Product: konsole
Version: unspecified
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konsole-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: sterlingchristensen at hotmail.com
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux
I would like to be able to check a box to make konsole (and yakuake) behave
like this:
1. If I scroll up and then type a letter, scroll back to the bottom.
2. If I scroll up and then paste some text, DO NOT scroll. Keep viewing this
part of the scrollback buffer in case I want to copy+paste something else.
This is the way gnome-terminal works, and it's very convenient. For example:
suppose your package manager outputs a list of packages you could update, but
you want to update some and not all of them. So you paste together a command
line to do that. This can save you from having to repeatedly scroll back up to
copy the next package name.
Reproducible: Always
Actual Results:
Pasting causes you to lose your place, so you have to scroll back up and find
it again.
Expected Results:
Paste should optionally not cause scrolling.
