I've been disappointed by software I payed for more than enough. I prefer to
use free software and toss it whenever I don't like it. Once I read that this
is fixed I'll give Konsole another spin. Until then I'll stick with XTerm which
is also free software.

As for web browsers: Firefox is a free web browser, it serves my needs. I don't
use Konqueror.

When KDE 4 was just released I shared your opinion about developers discarding
everything. But now I think that actually a lot of code from KDE3 has been
reused. The switch to plasma clearly has brought a lot of new possibilities to
the desktop and I am amazed by the rate at which old KDE 3 features that where
lost in the transition to KDE4.0 have reappeared in 4.2 and 4.3.
