[Konsole-devel] Konsole Behavior Between KDE 3 & 4

I apologize in advance for the following flamebait; I'm sure this is a
bit intrusive. I don't want to offend anyone working so hard on this
terrific tool, nor do I want to put these remarks in the wrong forum,
but I also hope to get/give this feedback straight to the source.
I have recently upgraded from KDE 3 to KDE 4 on Debian (stable vs
testing) and I was unhappy to see that konsole's tabbing behavior,
specifically it's feature related to sending input to multiple tabs, was
drastically changed in a way that make it less easy for me to use.
More to the point, in being able to select from all konsole tabs for
"Copy input to" (including those not in the same terminal pane) I find
it difficult to determine which set of tabs it is that I'm working
against. I prefer the previous behavior where I could group all tabs I
wanted to work with similarly in one pane (a logical grouping to my
mind) and other groups of machines likewise in other panes. Then, with
the former "Send input to all tabs" functionality, I was clearly
resctricting my action only to the current pane's tabs. Now it is less
clear where I am working and that is disconcerting.
Is this behavior lost entirely? Can a "backwards compatible" behavior be
restored with a configuration of which I'm not currently aware?
Thanks for making / maintaining konsole. I lean on this application far
too heavily, I have just found out. It's great, even if it's now less
convenient to yours truly.
Thanks,
- John
