Didn’t use to do it for a while in MC, but since 4.4.0 it does it all the time.
First I thought it might be a ShiftModifier “feature”, but I just looked into
the source and couldn’t find anything like that.
Then I thought it might be a problem in Application-mode mouse, but mcedit
--nomouse does the same.
Joe and less both work just fine.
It doesn’t do this when MC is in black-and-white mode; I’m thinking that in BW
mode, MC is smart and doesn’t unnecessarily fill the lines up with spaces
(which it needs to when in colour mode so there’s a proper blue fill)... So in
colour mode, Konsole feels these are useful spaces.
Just my two cents...
