This bug can even be dangerous. I have a tool that reports filenames one on
each line. Before the newline a backslash is printed, so I can easily
copy&paste the output as input to a command:
filenum1 \
file2 \
file3
Copy&paste to e.g. "svn add" all these files:
svn add [middle mouse click]
Usually all the files are put on the command line. But with the spaces the
backslash will escape a space and the "svn add" is executed too early. The next
filename will be called as a command. Now imagine this is a script named
"deletemyhomedirectory.pl".
