I can understand catering to the majority of users.  Still, I'm somewhat
puzzled as KDE applications have historically had options for everything most
of which I've been content to leave at their default settings.

Is there a recommended sound file that would give a similar beep sound as the
PC speaker?  Will that file be played quickly enough to be useful for tab
completion, Mutt notification, or Aptitude search failure notification?

I suppose that all we're requesting is an option even if it is off by default.
