Confirmed also in Mepis 8 x64 KDE4.2 Edition (Danums Remaster)

To replicate - Open new Konsole session, type something and TAB, Hangs for
about 30seconds. Rather frustrating.

@Robert - Does it happen when you press backspace at the start of a line as
well? - YES, Confirmed

Kernel - 2.6.27-1-mepis64-smp

root at quaddog:/home/cam# konsole -v    
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1)
Konsole: 2.2.1

cam at quaddog:~$ kde4-config --version
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1)
kde4-config: 1.0

Any ideas for Resolution / Hack / Workaround /Fix?
