           Summary: Cannot configure Konsole geometry
           Product: konsole
           Version: 2.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konsole-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: bkorb at gnu.org

Version: 2.1 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 8.13", SUSE Linux
Enterprise 11)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-5-default

Google seems to indicate that others have encountered this problem, but I can't
find a bug report for it. There has to be since my experience is so completely
unacceptable:

* It used to be the case that geometry was a settable attribute when saving
settings. It is a horrible regression that this capability has been disabled.

* It should be possible to make an X setting in .Xdefaults:
  xterm*geometry: 81x105
  Doesn't work.

* it should be possible to set the geometry in a command line option in the
property settings of the Konsole desktop file. Nope, doesn't work either.

Folks, distributions are dropping KDE 3.5 nowadays. Your "improvements" are
making my life much more difficult. Please, please, please fix some
regressions before adding more features. Thank you very much! Regards, Bruce
