I too think the actions should be configurable. 

There should be a library of possible actions, because less knowledgeable users
(like me) just don't know many shell commands. This way you would also educate
your users, and you would extend an important aspect of GUIs, discoverability,
into the domain of textual user interfaces. 

Configuration would be best done with a simple template language like:
kfmclient copy <URL> .
