Summary: Keyboard repeat appears to be very slow, independent of
key repeat settings (especially to the left)
Product: konsole
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konsole-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: novosirj at umdnj.edu
Version: 4.1.85 (using Devel)
Compiler: N/A, from packages
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources
When typing a long command (for example, a wget with a long URL) and then
attempting to use the left arrow, especially, to go back to the beginning of
the command for an edit appears to use a very low key repeat rate -- perhaps 3
strokes per second.
Doing the same to the right appears to respect the key repeat rate for perhaps
10-15 characters and then also slows down to this 3 strokes per second rate. I
don't know anything to try or the sort of thing that would affect this
behavior. Let me know what other information might be crucial.
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 with packages from their PPA. I'm not 100% sure if
there is an upstream bug here or not -- perhaps someone can confirm/deny the
behavior.
