Summary: missing shortcuts in konsole
Product: konsole
Version: unspecified
Platform: Debian stable
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konsole-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: ororo at email.it
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
As I already wrote here:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=184299
konsole lacks the keyboard shorcuts for open the menus.
E.g. in the menu "Edit" one would expect that the letter "E" is underlined and
Alt+E would open the menu.
But there are no underlined letters.
This, at least, happens in the Italian translation.
In that topic, people answered me that this is a wanted behaviour. For me, this
behaviour is bad: imagine for a minute that your mouse is broken, and you don't
remember if there is a particular short cut to open a new "tab", the easiest
way would be a shortcut to open the menu. But it does not exist.
(This situation just happened to me ;)
Second observation, notice that inside the menu "Edit" there are several items
(e.g. "Copy" and "Insert"), and these item *HAVE* an underlined letter for
keyboard access! But that underlined letter is useless, as you don't have a way
to open the menu.
