Hi,

Not sure about this.  I think it is useful to be able to reset the terminal
without losing history - although you can do that via the Edit menu as well. 
In KDE 4 we do support another control sequence from Xterm to clear the history
(see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158235)
