i'm running Qt/KDE 3 here, plain Debian unstable.

I would wonder if the problem does not appear in QT/KDE 4,
as it feels not unlikely a local configuration problem, but i have
not validated that yet.

My guess is that the particular rendering method in the konsole
triggers a normally not noticeable problem in the QT/X11 path
or in my local installation.

I'll find out whether the problem persists under QT/KDE 4 these
days and report back.
