judging from the "Parent=" line in a Child.profile file, I think that it 
is exactly as I guesses. The parent is simply tracked by a file name!

If you really keep the concept of profile inheritance (which I think you 
should not), you'd better use a unique identifier, e.g. some random 
number. Otherwise, there's another source for probable confusion!
